Gift from my daughter (2025) is an oil painting on a 60x60cm deep edge canvas, strung ready to hang. This original picture is an act of remembrance of some flowers my daughter gave me. This is rare, but they were free and couldn't go in the house as lilies don't work well with cats.
 
I wanted to contrast the white flowers with a cool background and I liked the way the green looked against this blue grey fabric. I always get drawn into painting the glass container and this one is a basic vase, which needed to have a narrow neck to hold up the weight of the heavy floral arrangement.
